SWITCH AFRICA GREEN PROJECT AT CENTRE DE FORMATION AGRICOLE FRERE REMY

The overall objective of SWITCH Africa Green (SAG) is to support six countries in Africa to achieve sustainable development by engaging in the transition towards an inclusive green economy, based on sustainable consumption and production patterns, while generating growth, creating decent jobs and reducing poverty. The main objective of this action is to empower the Centre de Formation Agricole Frère Remy so as to support Rodrigues Island in achieving sustainable development. The proposed action is built on:

  1. Incorporating green business development in the curriculum and assist business start-ups of our students and community;
  2. Improving service delivery of the Centre by optimizing the actual resources through studies and reports in the field of water management, waste management, energy management, landscape architecture, topographic studies and statistics;
  3. Training the students, coaches, participants and the community on SCP patterns and practices;
  4. Promotion of an inter Mascarene Islands (Rodrigues-Mauritius) networking program
  5. Visibility actions of the project in Rodrigues Island and in the surrounding regions The project being implemented at Centre de Formation Agricole Frère Remy is positively contributing to the vision of making Rodrigues Island an ecological island and achieve sustainable development by engaging in transition towards an inclusive green economy, based on sustainable consumption and production patterns, while generating growth, creating decent jobs and reducing poverty.
